A 5-a-side tournament for young people across Southampton. Real trophies, real competition, one afternoon. Bring a team, bring your friends, or turn up on your own and we'll find you a squad.
Every team is guaranteed their full group stage — nobody travels across the city for one game. Top of your group or a best runner-up and you're through.
Five on the pitch. Squads of up to eight, so you get a rest.
You play your full group stage, win or lose.
Straight through, no half-time. Fast, end to end, no hiding.

Read these before Saturday and send them round your squad. Referee decisions are final.
5 players on the pitch, including the goalkeeper. Squads of up to 8, so you always have subs. Rolling substitutions are allowed throughout the tournament.
Each game lasts 10 minutes straight through, with no half-time. The referee's time is final.
Appropriate footwear must be worn at all times. Only boots or trainers suitable for a 4G artificial pitch are permitted. Metal studs are not allowed.
Kick-ins replace throw-ins. Goals cannot be scored directly from a kick-in.
There is no offside.
No slide tackles. Dangerous or reckless challenges may result in a yellow or red card. Respect all referees, organisers, opponents and spectators at all times.
All free kicks are direct. Opponents must stand at least 3 metres from the ball.
No deliberate pass-backs to the goalkeeper's hands. Goalkeepers have 6 seconds to release the ball.
Group stage points decide qualification.
Quarter finals, semi finals, a third place playoff and the final. If any knockout match is level after normal time, teams play an extra 3½-minute period. Still level and it goes to penalties — 3 each, then sudden death.
Yellow card = warning. Red card = immediate dismissal from the match. Fighting, abusive language, dissent towards officials or poor behaviour may result in removal from the tournament.
Teams must be ready for each fixture when called. Late teams may forfeit their match. The referee's decision is final. Play fairly, respect everyone, and enjoy the tournament.
Individual awards run right through the day. Knocked out in the groups and you can still walk away with the Golden Boot.

We can't let anyone on the pitch without a completed player form and an emergency contact. It's a safeguarding requirement and there are no exceptions on the day — so get your squad to do it now, not on Friday night.

Cross & Goals is put on by KP2 Southampton — Kharis Phase 2 — and it's one of a few things running through the year for young people in this city.
There's football every week, small groups around Southampton, games nights and socials. If you enjoy Saturday and fancy carrying it on, everything's open and there's no sign-up needed. Just turn up.
Easiest way to keep up is Instagram — that's where fixtures, results, photos and anything else gets posted.
Everything below is open to anyone and free to come to. Turn up as you are, bring a friend, leave when you like — nobody will put you on the spot.
Music, a talk and a room full of people your age. Plenty of people come for the first time on their own — you won't stand out.
Smaller and more relaxed. Good if Sundays don't work, or if you'd rather start somewhere quieter.

Yes, and plenty of people are in the same boat. Fill in the player form and tick that you're looking for a team. We put everyone without a squad into proper teams with a keeper and subs — same games, same trophies, same shot at winning it. You'll get your team name before the day.
Five on the pitch including the keeper. You can register a squad of up to eight, which gives you subs across the day. Got fewer than eight? Not a problem — five is a full team, and we can top you up with players who signed up on their own.
Nothing. Free to enter, free to play, and food and drinks are included.
Teams and captains arrive at 12:00. That gives you time to check in, get your bibs and warm up before the 1:00pm kick-off. Spectators can come for 1:00pm.

Please do — bring your friends and bring your family. The more people round the pitch the better it feels, and there's food, music and challenges going on all afternoon. Spectators should aim for 1:00pm — 12:00 is the team call time.
Yes — we're inviting local clubs and coaches, and there will be people watching who know the game. The Players to Watch award exists for exactly that reason.
